Well, after thinking about it for 2 years, I've finally broken down and started a blog. The biggest thing is the time. I have enough to do so I wasn't sure about devoting the time to actually keep up a blog. But various circumstances brought me closer and closer to the point where I finally reached 100% certain that I wanted to do one. This is mostly intended to be an outlet for my ideas and understandings and hopefully to be useful and edifying for others. My life apart from work and time spent with the family consists of learning history, language, philosophy, and theology in the pursuit of knowing God better. My immediate goal is to get a Masters degree in biblical studies with the intent of pursuing a doctoral degree in biblical studies and teaching somewhere. My dream is to go to school in the UK for PhD studies but we'll see how that works out. In the meantime, I enjoy reading book upon book to learn as much as I can as best I can. I hope I can by this blog pass on a little of what I learn and be taught at the same time.
Welcome to the blogging world. I look forward to reading your blog. Good luck in your studies.
ReplyDeleteCarl, I am so glad you're doing this! I really think you have a very solid and well-reasoned perspective, and I can't wait to get more of your views on things. What a great start!

Wow! Thanks for the encouragement. I forgot to mention that I won't likely be posting too often but probably on the order of a few times a month...we'll see how it goes.
ReplyDeletebienvenue! vous serez grands. il s'agit d'une Très Bonne Idée.
ReplyDeleteLaura, thanks for the French! ...and for the welcome. This is officially a multi-cultural blog. I should say happy Rosh Hashanah on that note. It is now the month of Tishrei 5771.
ReplyDeleteNever know what you might find on the WWW! Is this my son that, in school, couldn't be paid to write a paper if his life depended on it? How exciting! Can't wait for more. Love ya, Mom
ReplyDeletei was banking on that, given your interests. :) looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
